Installing Aircraft

Post by meskuzi301 » 21 Dec 2008, 15:27

Hey all I'm new to this and i have the FSX Deluxe and the expansion pack, Acceleration. and im have a very hard time trying to figure out how to install an aircraft onto fsx. I've done the tutorial and tried a few other planes that said FSX Compatible but none of them show up on my free flight screen. any tips? what might i be doing wrong? o and if you have a step by step on how to do it better, please explain.

Thanks for the help

Hey um yeah I downloaded several planes current livery and have all of the proper files to go along with them, my problem is getting them from that downloaded state to my flight simulator. I've moved them all sorts of ways and they dont show up on my free flight screen. I dont understand how to do this. Do i move each file individualy or move the whole file at once? I'm very confused, and thanks for any suggestions

Merry Christmas

P.s I've read the tutorial up and down and all it has said to me about this process is "now you know what each file means, now just move them into the right places" and I dont know what this means.

Thanks

Go to My computer, then Local Disk C, program files, microsoft games, microsoft flight simulator X, simobjects and then airplanes. Paste the aircraft in that folder and you're done.

If you are adding a repaint to a default aircraft or aircraft folder already installed, paste the textures folder into the aircraft folder, then you paste the text from the readme into the aircraft.cfg, and change the number in [flitsim.xx] to the next number in the sequence.

For example:

[fltsim.0]

Have you Unzipped the folder?
When you go into the FSX aircraft folder and click on the aircraft do you need to click on another folder to get the sound, model and other stuff?

In the aircraft folder there should be a "readme.txt". Read that and see if it helps.
