Re: How to Choose a STAR

That's how I usually do it. Looking at my last fix.
Otherwise I look up different TPs in charts. They usually tell you which STAR to use, based on your inbound fix.

Re: Ready for Pushback Version2 for FS2004 (B747-200)

I downloaded it as soon as I saw it (It's actually been free for ages), however I just can't get my head around INS navigation lol

Re: Real Environment Xtreme for fs9

Does the REX weather engine actually replicate wind shear and wake turbulence then?

They provided a link between the UK and the Falklands. Wonder what's going to happen with that now

Re: Parking

Yes I know what the entries are for. I was saying that I thought they were for ATC, to know where to direct you to park.

Re: Parking

Are you sure? Because more often than not, FS ATC does direct me to the correct stand/gate.

Why are there ATC entries in user aircraft's .cfg, such as airline and parking type? I thought they were included, for just this purpose?

Re: Real Environment Xtreme for fs9

Haven't had a chance to look at the water yet, liked the one I had too but we'll see. You have the option of unchecking any textures you don't want and then can supply your own. I'm not sure about their weather engine yet, I found the turbulence to be a welcome addition from ASv6 but have not had a...

Re: Real Environment Xtreme for fs9

What is the water like, Nick? From the pictures it looks very good, although I'd like to know how it looks with animation in the sim. Also, is it time to get rid of ActiveSky, or are you using it with the textures from REX? I found the water to be nice. I'll give you a more detailed post about it t...

Re: Parking

It's weird. Sometimes I get directed to the correct parking spot, but others, I'll get sent to some distant cargo/GA ramp, such as the other day at KORD, where I was parked outside one of the AAL maintenance hangars :?

Re: Real Environment Xtreme for fs9

The water is the one thing about it which I'm disappointed with. Before I got REX, I was using Ultimate Water, and there it looked all bump-mapped and '3d', even from high altitude, but now, ever since installing REX, it's all flat and blotchy looking, unless I'm right down near it, and then it just...

Re: BIG BIG problem with FS9.

Yes, that does sound like an issue with the CD.

Perhaps you could download a copy of FS2004 (which would be legal, seeing as you own it), and try installing it using the downloaded one?

A "quick" charter between Gatwick and Heathrow? Probably would've been faster to get the train :p

Nice shots though

To be fair, the ultra-realism fans are well catered for. You have the PSS and the CaptainSim 757s which are complex.

Well, there are some systems modelled, as well as a basic FMC, but nothing as complex as a PMDG or CS aircraft, for example.
