So, who sets these goals? And what is the purpose of them? We didn't reach the monthly goals to get Varig on board. What does that mean exactly? Did Aaron think of these goals and say, if they meet these goals, then we will add Varig to the list of airlines. Or did someone at Varig Airlines have anything to do with the setting of the goals?

I understand that there is a lot of time that goes into running a website like this, but at the same time, a lot of it seems like a very elaborate college project/something to make the resume look nice later on. And with the whole goal thing, makes it looks like the person had some control over things, and was running it in a management like way, perhaps much the way someone in airline management might. Like setting goals for a department (or the roster) and if they reached them they would be rewarded (or an additional virtual airline would be added) and if they did not meet them, then there would be no reward (or in this case, no additional virtual airline that would be added)

I am not trying to downplay what anyone does here, I am just wondering exactly how certain things are arrived at, and where these goals come from and things of that nature.

All that have been said. It is still fun to fly actual flights of an airline using the same aircraft, times, cities that the actual airline uses. And learning more about the aviation industry from the people on this board to me, is more exciting and more interesting then the actual flying part.

Not sure what you mean here, since Varig Airlines has no affiliation with SimAirline.net.

That's exactly what we strive for.

We came to these certain goals by deciding which statistics were most important to us. As for what the specific numerical goal is for each category, it was well thought out and planned, as illustrated by our 2005 Operations Plan under Section 3.

Hope this helps.

Lots of information available here that answers your questions, probably to the level of depth you want: http://www.simairline.net/messageboards ... php?t=1430

Great Job! Aaron, well said. My input would be the Pilot Logbook useing the PHP and Mysql is first priority. You have airlines to go any where in the world. You have to search for the routes you may want, but I think that is fun. :D

I am teaching myself PHP and Mysql, but a long way from helping you. :P

Keep up the good work Aaron! :)

I am wondering, do we have anybody that is doing that at the moment or have we been doing anything to try to find someone that could fulfill that position, cause it has been up for a while now, and if we don't get that covered, its what will be delaying our furthur expansion??

Ali indicated the other day that it's too late to bring someone new in to help, so hiring for the position has been removed. We are still, however, in need of a new British Airways Fleet Manager.

I've finished designing and implementing my designs now, so it's too late. I'm taking it all by myself now :rolling:
