Engine one only responds to throttle.

Post by cpt nick »

Ive just got this annoying problem, when I move the joystick throttles only engine one responds. both respond when I use F1 F2 etc...
this has happened before it fixed itself for some reason. I have a cyborg X twin throttle joystick. before both engines were controlled by one throttle (which I didnt mind), Ive tried to configure engine 2 to respond to the number 2 throttle on the joystick after this problem started.

Anyone know how i could stop this without having to reinstall FS9?

thanks guys :)

Hey, Ive had that problem in the past before, the way that I had fixed it was in the joystick configuration, or calibration. You should be able to calibrate it through FS, When you do, and you test the throttle, you'll see it only moves one engine, in there you should be able to link the throttle back to all engines instead of one. Hope this helps, its been a while since its happened to me, so Im not sure if anything has changed.

Press "E" and the number of engines of the plane. if there are, for example, two engines, press "1" and "2" at the same time, so you would press "e"+"1"+"2". That should configure the engine with the throttle. And do it with ATC window closed, just in case.

This will only help to get both engines working on the same throttle lever, but I do not believe it will help to get the engines operating on separate throttle levers.

The really odd thing is that the throttle lever is only controlling one engine, whereas the keyboard is controlling both. If you only have one engine selected, the throttle lever on the joystick and the F1-F4 keys should only control that engine. It's odd that the throttle lever on the joystick only controls one engine while the F1-F4 keys control them all.

My suggestion would be to take a real close look at the joystick config settings, as well as your FS control settings. In FSX, you can map an axis for each engine (up to four), so if your joystick has two throttle levers, you could put engines 1 and 2 on the left lever and engines 3 and 4 on the right lever. Not sure how that would work if you regularly go between two and four engine aircraft (you may need to remap the axes every time, I dunno), or how you would want to control a three-holer with two throttle levers.

You may also want to consider purchasing the full version of FSUIPC. I have it and it enables me to configure reverse thrust and different settings on my throttle. I think there is an option for configuring multiple throttles.

Thanks for the help guys! I will try out your suggestions when I get back home.#

@RatherBFlyin

Im not to fussed about making each engine run on each throttle lever, just so one controls all of them and not just engine 1 :)
