Hi Nick,
Could it be something like overheating? The word damage sounds like such a thing, but I need some more text from that blue screen to be sure.
FS9 never shut down my PC, but it did cause a reboot when I had some old nVidia driver. Is yours up to date?
cheers,
Enno

You know, I'v got this problem too. What'll happen to me is I'll be flying, and my fan for my computer will come on, and then after about 8 mins of that, mine will reboot itself. Once it reboots, a box says 'Your system has recovered from a serious error', and it'll tell me to just send the report to Microsoft or don't send it.

Sounds like a heat issue if it says it's been shut down to prevent damage.
As for the BSODs, that usually means a new piece of hardware or drivers has buggered something up. Faulty hardware is usually the issue there, so try taking out any new bits. And update any drivers.

Since I don't know anything about that, what does update your drivers mean?

Update your hardware component's drivers to the latest version. To get these just head to the manufacturer's website and you should be able to download them from there.Jacob Mobley wrote:Since I don't know anything about that, what does update your drivers mean?

Ok, so I'll try to go to HP's website and download it. I don't have any hardware that didn't come with the computer, so I'll try that.

Re: FS9 regulary shuts down pc
Just because your computer was made by HP doesn't mean all the components are made by HP. You will need to find out which manufacturer made your components and download them from their website. For example, your graphics card: it is most likely made by nVidia or ATI and I don't think you can get drivers for that from HP so you'd need to go to the specific website.Jacob Mobley wrote:Ok, so I'll try to go to HP's website and download it.
