Hi!

Duly signed it! Number 318 if you're asking!

Honestly a waist of time. Petitions don't mean a thing these days.

I'm sorry to say it, but past experiences tell me that petitions, especially online petitions, NEVER work. I've signed countless petitions and no action has been made.

I've signed. I think that if it makes us feel better, why not?

Or we could all send peanuts to MS headquarters like people do when a TV show is cancelled. :) Sometimes, that actually works. But who will buy the peanuts?

Personally, I'm not comfortable giving out my email address, so unfortunately I shan't be signing the petition. I also have to agree with what's been said, that online petitions seem rather pointless.

I agree with the others, although it doesn't hurt to sign it:

1) I don't like giving out my personal information.

2) Microsoft doesn't care, they are just trying to save themselves from being a victim of this economic downturn.

3) Online petitions aren't looked at by anyone except for the people who sign them.

So why even bother?

You contradict yourself... #3 so why bother...? Well you did bother so apparently there is a reason.

Petitions are indeed absolutely pointless, there's nothing anyone can do which, yes, is sad but could be a good thing if someone picks up and invests some good programming into the FS line.

Well at least it gives us hope. If there's no hope, it just seems like the end.

Y'all still want Microsoft to continue on Flight Simulator, don't ya?

Nick, I didn't sign it, I just need to improve my English.
I was saying that even though it might not hurt to sign the petition, it is basically pointless because Microsoft isn't looking at it.

Are practically the opposite things, you are contradicting yourself...

English is not necessarily my forte :D

I didn't mean to contradict myself, it was accidental. Anyway, I didn't mean what I had originally said, as explained in my above post.

Guys, let's just end the discussion here. If you want to sign it, sign it. If you don't, then you don't.

He's referring to David.

We DO want Flight Simulator to continue, but at this point we have to be realistic. Microsoft is restructuring itself and apparently ACES is not something that brings in a lot of income for them. Think about it, to please just ONE group (the FS fans) would you risk your company going into bankruptcy? Resources need to be directed to other sources of income (like maybe working out the bugs on Vista).

Ya know Dennis, you have a point. But maybe if they did work out the bugs on Vista, then they could restart the flight simulator program once they have enough income and use the new features of Vista to make a better Flight Simulator.

That's just my opinion.

I can tell you right now that Microsoft has erased Vista and the Flight Simulator Franchise from their minds. All they are trying to do is start development on Windows 7, and SURVIVE this economic breakdown. After all, work comes before play.

In my opinion, Windows Vista was an exact clone of Windows ME (marketing wise), a rushed operating system that was put on the market before it was ready. Mind you, about 2 years after ME was put on the market, Microsoft released Windows XP, which was undoubtedly their most successful operating system to date.
