I started a similar topica ages ago, and it is still in the development stage. Hopefully this will mean it is a polished product when it is released.

Wow!

That is just.... awesome!

Seeing as I purchased the deluxe version of FSX (The first day it was out!) and could'nt play it on my computer at any of the high settings... I've been stuck with somewhat crappier graphics... hopefully that might change soon, with this. :D

I could blow all of my money on their stuff, and I wouldn't be making a single mistake.

Bringing this one back up, the project appears to be nearing completion and the previews are just breathtaking. FS9 and REX is about to make FSX look like a welfare project.

It's out and easily as amazing as it looks in the pictures. Without the time to fully test it, with mid-range settings (no net-FPS impact) it looks ridiculous.

A must for all still flying FS9, it's really the last remaining shortcoming, good weather.

What is the water like, Nick? From the pictures it looks very good, although I'd like to know how it looks with animation in the sim. Also, is it time to get rid of ActiveSky, or are you using it with the textures from REX?

The water is the one thing about it which I'm disappointed with. Before I got REX, I was using Ultimate Water, and there it looked all bump-mapped and '3d', even from high altitude, but now, ever since installing REX, it's all flat and blotchy looking, unless I'm right down near it, and then it just looks like slow moving jelly :(

I'm also now experiencing the angular texture 'transitions' (or opposite) which are noticeable from high altitude, and that's a definite massive no-no. Just big blocks of different coloured water textures appearing in the distance.

I don't understand :?

I found the water to be nice. I'll give you a more detailed post about it tomorrow. The REX weather engine is crap!!! ASV6.5 is waayy better. Doesn't update as often and doesn't have nearly as many features as ActiveSky has.

OK. Thanks for the heads up guys. I have to admit the water I'm using at the moment is very good looking, although I have no idea where it's from. I think I'll just have to backup my water textures before installing REX.
