Project Airbus releases A319 !!!

YAY !!!!! I've been waiting for this one for a long time. This is the best A319 ever !!!! :D :D :D

Sweet! I like the PA stuff since it's so nice on the FPS. Can't wait for some good liveries!

Just realised there is a new Virgin America A319 repaint, so that should be a nice addition and complete the Virgin America fleet.

I still cannot see the difference between the iFDG and PA model. :?

I might give it a shot, pretty happy with iFDG and just getting the merge perfected after months.... grrr!

PA focuses on so much detail and proper modeling. Have you seen iFDG's wingtip fences ?? They look pathetic and comical as compared to PA. The Wing Detail on PA is the best thing. Everything on the wings is as accurate as you can get. Believe me, I've flown the A320 and A319 several times and PA has the exact flap/slat extension speeds and the exact degree where the flaps/slats extend to. Everything you see on the wing in real life is there on the PA A319/A320. EVerything else is also as real as you can get.

I hardly ever flew PA's A320 because it had no wingflex and modelled NAV lights. (Modelled NAV Lights are a must with any A32X series, for me. The aircraft turns ugly without them)

But PA's A319 has modelled NAV lights as well as wingflex.

iFDG sucks as compared to PA. They have absolutely no detail on anything. I will fly this bird alot with my Wilco panel when my new machine gets built.

Even though PA has so much detail on everything in their models, they still have excellent FPS which is a major plus point. The iFDG has absolutely no detail but is still much harder than PA on FPS.

Ehhh no sale.

When I tried the A320, I didn't really like it. Maybe someday.

Update: I tried the A319 (Northwest of course) and it was ehhhhhh, to me it's no better than the iFDG which has all the liveries (good ones) that I want. Definitely not the upgrade you make it out to be.

If it's liveries you're crazy about, wait a week or so. People are crazily painting this thing.

I agree, The PA airbus is superior to the IFDG A320, but then again the IFDG one has been out for quite a while. My only concern is with the performance. A few months ago, I tried a climb out from heathrow to FL330 and it couldn't get there. Plus I merged the PSS panel with it and the EGT was through the roof. I may stick with something else for now.

Is that a problem with the PA Airbus? I remember that another member of management had problems with the performance of PA, so we swithced back to iFDG for Virgin America.

Yes, it is a problem, which is also mentioned in the PA forum. When I read their words right, it looks like the FDE designer is not available at the moment, so they don't seem to have an official cure.

Anyway, I just found a simple cure myself. I changed the max RPM in the [autopilot] section of the AIRCRAFT.CFG file to the value listed below:

autothrottle_max_rpm= 110 //92.5

This value is similar to the one in iFDG's CFG (113), and it results in adequate climb performance. It seems to result in less throttle reduction when the aircraft accelerates. With the old value, N1 would already go down during the take-off run, and now that doesn't happen anymore.

Please note that even though the value listed here is above 100, the actual N1 will not go any higher than 93 %.

I have a modified AIRCRAFT.CFG for the NW A319 available for download.

I really found no difference between the two. I like both equally. The major difference for me is the amount of repaints available. After all, I really love vueling.com's scheme A LOT.
