Post by Aaron Robinson » 07 Jan 2008, 13:46

SimAirline.net's Viewpoint section is now open, with full details about the new section there.

I encourage you all to try the comment-posting feature on Viewpoint to give your feedback, but it's of course welcome here as well.

Looks really nice, I would like to see that go to the main page as well.

Shame that Latitude will discontinue, but I feel it is the right choice for you, and it means that work can be centred elsewhere at simairline.net.

more personal than previous management-pilot communications

Yes, I think this is a more personal way, and I think it is a more open way of management discussing articles and news with pilots, without the pressure of meeting dealines, which was the case with Latitude.

Looks great, and I'm with Chris, it'd be nice to see that as the new universal header. Much more modern. Nice job on it Nick.

Are the tails screenshots then? I would assume it is hard to find all of those pictures at the right angle and with the same lighting.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but they can be cropped and rotated accordingly, and the lighting can be modified with the powerful image editing programs present these days.

Correct. Nick's no dummy. Erase the background, change the lighting a bit so they're uniform somewhat, change the angle if need-be, and voila!

You guys have no idea how much work went into that banner, we're talking over a week and something like 40 revisions. Probably 20-30 hours of work.

They're all real photos and pulling, editing, removing from the background, etc was a 3 day task. Hours and hours of PS.

Definitely, Aaron uploads a new version of the site every so often, just hasn't done it yet.

Gotcha. Figured it had to do with the computer crash workload.
