Message from Aaron
2 July 2006
To All Of Our Pilots,
June was another
good month for SimAirline.net. Our major remaining problems with the new
roster system were solved, and we hope to have the rest worked out by the
end of the month. Although we didn't reach our monthly goals for last month
(we need to hire
Fleet Managers for Icelandair, Pan American, and South African), we will
be opening Thai Virtual very soon, since we did fulfill our goals for May.
Varig Update
As you may know,
Varig is in severe financial distress in the real world, and may cease
operations in the near future. We do have contingency plans in place in
case this happens, and will continue to operate Varig Virtual, although
we may need to suspend our own operations temporarily to implement a new
flight schedule.
Emirates Switches
Timetables
Emirates Virtual
is the latest virtual airline to switch to a downloadable timetable. At
this time, fourteen of our twenty-five virtual airlines use timetable programs.
When SimAirline.net is operating all thirty-two virtual airlines, we expect
nineteen to be using timetable programs, and only seven will have timetables
that require updating to reflect the latest flight schedule.
Contributions
Update
SimAirline.net still
needs $415.40 to fulfill its contributions goal for the year. You can learn
more about how to contribute here.
Virtual Airline
of the Month - Midway Virtual
This month's featured
virtual airline is Midway Virtual,
our second virtual airline and first to be based in the U.S. More information
on Midway Virtual, including selected screenshots, can be found here.
Most of the new routes
for summer have been added, but I hope you enjoy those yet to come. Thank
you as always for contributing to our success.
