1 October 2006
To All Of Our Pilots,
I'm pleased to announce that Varig Virtual
will complete its restructuring in the next week and offer the flights
of the airline from nearly a decade ago. These operations will offer pilots
access to the largest airline network in South America, both within the
continent and overseas. I hope you enjoy the new Varig Virtual.
Time Zone Reminder
Because many countries in the world shift
time zones this month because of daylight saving time, we strongly recommend
that you file a PIREP immediately after flying a flight and that you always
check for current time zone information at the World
Time Server.
New Monthly Records
I'm pleased to report that three new organization
records were set last month. A new record for flight hours per pilot was
set (21:37 vs. 20:06 previously), as well as PIREPs for both Air Tahiti
Nui (61 vs. 55) and AOM (36 vs. 29).
Management Hiring
SimAirline.net only needs to fill three
management positions before we can expand to include Pan American Virtual:
British Airways Manager, Icelandair Manager, and Midway Manager. We are
also hiring for the positions of Aircraft Developer, Interim VA Manager,
and Scenery Developer. More information on each of these positions is available
here.
Contributions
Update
SimAirline.net still
needs only $142.67 to reach its contributions goal for the year. Please
consider helping to ensure SimAirline.net's future. You can learn more
here.
Virtual Airline
of the Month - Copa Virtual
This month's featured
virtual airline is our first Latin American virtual airline, Copa
Virtual, which is based on the largest airline in the region. More
information on Copa, including selected screenshots, can be found here.
Our management team
is considering a number of improvements to SimAirline.net that would be
announced and implemented in 2007. In the meantime, I hope you're enjoying
what we have to offer now. Thank you as always for flying for us.
