1 January 2006
To All Of Our Pilots,

Thanks go to all of you who took the time to fill out our 2005 Annual Survey. This is important for us to gauge how well we are doing as an organization, and what we areas we need to focus (or refocus) on for the coming year. The full results for the survey, with commentary on most items, are available here. The survey results helped shape what points should be the focus of our 2006 Operations Plan, which is now available. A full list of our accomplishments for 2005 are also listed.

In addition, our monthly goals for 2006 virtual airline expansion will be subject to pilot approval to ensure that you feel they are reasonable. You can vote on monthly goals here through the end of the month.

We have set our goal for pilot contributions for the year at $1000 (U.S.). More information on how these funds will be used and how to contribute can be found here.

Finally, our twenty-fourth virtual airline and first in South America, Varig Virtual, will open later this week.

Online ATC Training Program Restarts this Month
Our online ATC training program will begin this month with a full four-session cycle. Sessions will be on a biweekly basis, with the first taking place on 14 January. The training program will instruct pilots on how to fly with online ATC to VATSIM standards, with the eventual goal of resuming SimAirline.net's participation in fly-ins and other online events. More information is available here.

Management Hiring
SimAirline.net is currently hiring for five management positions: Aircraft Developer, ANA Fleet Manager, Korean Air Fleet Manager, Scenery Developer, and South African Fleet Manager. Three of these positions are required before we will expand to include Thai Virtual. If you are interested in any of these positions, you can learn more here.

Full Air Berlin Network Now Available
As promised, the entire Air Berlin network is now available, not just the Euro Shuttle routes. New routes are now available to the Canary Islands, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, and Turkey, as well as domestic routes within Germany.

SimAirline.net Begins CSA Codeshare Flights, Extends Lufthansa Codeshare
Select routes of CSA Czech Airlines Virtual (all to/from Prague) are now available as codeshare flights through Alitalia Virtual, Delta Virtual, and KLM Virtual. Four new destinations and twenty-three routes are available as a result. In addition, our codeshare agreement with the Lufthansa FlightSim Pilots Group has been extended to include Lufthansa's flights to/from Brazil, in partnership with Varig Virtual.

Virtual Airline of the Month - South African Virtual
This month's featured virtual airline is South African Virtual, our primary virtual airline in Africa. More information on South African Virtual, including selected screenshots, can be found here.

World Tour - Southern Hemisphere
This month's World Tour will fly routes of eight of our virtual airlines entirely in the Southern Hemisphere.

2006 looks to be another outstanding year for SimAirline.net. With your support, together we can ensure that.
