1 September 2005
To All Of Our Pilots,

August was arguably the finest month SimAirline.net has ever seen. We set new records in six areas, and we opened our twenty-third (and first German) virtual airline, Air Berlin Virtual. Although we fell short of our monthly goals for Varig Virtual, we hope to be able to reach those goals and expand to twenty-four next month.

Monthly Goal Changes
Because of the need to hire a Roster System Designer and its addition as part of our monthly goals, the requirements for the rest of 2005's virtual airlines' being added have been scaled downward. Without an assistant to help in the design and maintenance process of our new roster system, we won't be able to effectively implement our new roster system, which is essential to supporting any future virtual airline growth. At this time, we are hoping to have the new roster system implemented at the start of 2006.

Website Redesign Progress
At this time, twenty of our twenty-three virtual airlines have switched to the new website design, which is easier to use, both within and between virtual airlines. We expect all virtual airlines to conform to the new standards by the end of September. The original schedule called for redesigns to not be completed until the end of November.

New Aircraft Types
On 1 September, Delta begins flying the Embraer 170LR and KLM the A330-200, two exciting new additions to the fleets of both virtual airlines.

Latest World Tour Focuses on Europe
As our virtual airline expansion in Europe is nearly over with the addition of Air Berlin Virtual, our latest World Tour will be exclsuviely within Europe and contain flights from all our ten European virtual airlines. The schedule for this World Tour can be found here. We have decided to reduce the number of flights in World Tours during off-peak months.

Virtual Airline of the Month - Korean Air Virtual
Our latest Virtual Airline of the Month is Korean Air Virtual, which offers the most European and North American destinations of any airline based in Northeast Asia. You can learn more about Korean Air Virtual here.

August was an amazing month for SimAirline.net in many different ways. I hope and trust that we can maintain that level of dedication throughout the rest of 2005.
