Message from Aaron
1 July 2005
To All Of Our Pilots,
The last few weeks have seen some exciting
changes for SimAirline.net. We opened our newest virtual airline, AOM
Virtual. In the next week, we will also be announcing the six virtual
airlines we'll be adding in 2006 at the International
FlightSim Convention in Blackpool. However, there are many other exciting
things going on at SimAirline.net this summer, so enjoy reading.
SimAirline.net and Virtual Airline Websites
Redesigned
SimAirline.net has recently redesigned
its websites to inlcude a new menu system for easier website navigation.
The new design debuted on AOM Virtual and is now on the main SimAirline.net
site as well. Virtual airline websites will be redesigned at a rate of
one per week over the next few months.
Monthly Goals Fall Short
We felt short of our monthly goals to
add Air Berlin yet again this month, with flight hours being too low. However,
the second half of the month was very strong, and July and August are traditionally
very successful months for us.
World Tours Begin with SkyTeam
Continuing the tradition of last year's
successful Round-the-World Flight, we are beginning the first of our monthly
World
Tours this month. Our first World
Tour features our seven virtual airlines based on members of SkyTeam
in a round-the-world flight, with one flight per day. Pilots can participate
in as much of the tour as they wish, and can fly ahead or behind the group
as necessary.
Virgin Nigeria Opens
Virgin
Nigeria began operations earlier this week with its first flight between
Lagos and London Heathrow, and is now Virgin's fifth airline. Additional
services began the following days to Abuja and Port Harcourt.
Virtual Airline of the Month - ANA
This month's featured virtual airline
is SimAirline.net's first Asian virtual airline, ANA
Virtual. You can learn more about ANA Virtual here.
Copa to Join SkyTeam
Copa recently announced that it plans
to enter SkyTeam as an Associate Member in 2006. Once accession to the
alliance takes place, Copa Virtual will use the downloadable SkyTeam Timetable
instead.
SimAirline.net Travel
I will be flying on Continental from Washington
Dulles to Manchester, England via Newark on 7 July, and returning on 11
July. If you wish to meet me at any of those airports, please let me know.
These are some exciting
times here at SimAirline.net, and I'm glad you're here to take part in
them. Let's continue to make the future even better.
