Message from Aaron
1 November 2005
To All Of Our Pilots,
Please remember that many time zones have
changed in the last few days with the Northern Hemisphere return to standard
time. Please update your timetable programs to be sure they contain the
latest information. I strongly recommend also using FS
Real Time 1.77 and confirming time zones with the World
Time Server. Because of the time zone changes and the beginning of
winter timetables, some Flights pages at SimAirline.net may not yet contain
the latest information. We are working hard to ensure that the latest information
does become available. We were unable to reach our October goals to add
Varig, since we fell short in a few categories.
SimAirline.net to Attend FsWeekend
SimAirline.net will be participating in
FSWeekend,
a flightsim convention in Lelystad, Netherlands, on 5 and 6 November 2005.
SimAirline.net will be distributing promotional materials on KLM Virtual
and the entire organization. We have tentative plans to participate in
the International FlightSim Conventions in Birmingham (U.K.) and Denver
in 2006.
Online ATC Training Program to Begin
Our online ATC training program will have
its first session at 1700 GMT on November 15. More details on the training
program will be available over the next few days.
Contribute by Credit Card
SimAirline.net is now accepting contributions
by credit card, although we still prefer contributions by check.
Nine Management
Positions Open
SimAirline.net is
currently
hiring
for nine management positions: Air Tahiti Nui Fleet Manager, Aircraft Developer,
Concorde Fleet Manager, Icelandair Fleet Manager, Panels Manager, Roster
System Assistant, Scenery Developer, Varig Fleet Manager, and Virgin Fleet
Manager. If you are interested in any of these, you can learn more here.
Virgin Blue Now Includes Polynesian
Blue
Polynesian Blue began operations late
last month as part of the Virgin Blue network. Polynesian Blue is based
in Samoa and currently operates from Apia to both Auckland and Samoa.
Air Berlin Virtual
to Offer Entire Network
Air Berlin Virtual
will soon offer all flights of Air Berlin, as opposed to just the Euro
Shuttle routes. This expansion adds eighteen destinations to the Air Berlin
Virtual network, six of which are unique to Air Berlin Virtual. It also
adds a third hub in Nuremburg to Air Berlin Virtual.
Era Routes to
be Restored
Era Aviation's routes
from Bethel, which were recently removed from the Alaska Timetable, will
soon be available through Alaska Virtual's Flights page.
Sabena and Swissair
to Switch to Winter Timetable
Sabena Virtual and
Swissair Virtual will soon switch to a new winter timetable. Previously,
schedules were identical for both summer and winter, but with adjusted
times as necessary. The recent acquisition of the airlines' final winter
timetables makes this change possible.
Virtual Airline
of the Month - Northwest Virtual
This month's featured virtual airline
is Northwest Virtual.
More information on Northwest Virtual, including selected screenshots,
can be found here.
World Tour - Virgin
International Airways
This month's World
Tour will focus on our first virtual airline, Virgin International
Airways, and will include flights of every Virgin airline around the world.
Personal Travel
I will be visiting Milwaukee and Minneapolis/St.
Paul airports on November 22. If you wish to arrange a meeting at one of
those airports, please let me know.
November should be yet another good month
for SimAirline.net. Design work on our new roster system is proceeding,
and we hope to be able to release it in the near future. This will be the
most revolutionary change in SimAirline.net's history, and will enable
many improvements for both management and pilots alike.
