Message from Aaron

1 October 2005
To All Of Our Pilots,

Despite the end of summer, September was another busy month for SimAirline.net. One of the highlights of the month was the completion of our website redesign project. Our entire website (save old Messages from Aaron) conform to our new design. Unfortunately, we were not able to fulfill our monthly goals to add Varig Virtual to SimAirline.net, falling short in having all management positions filled and in pilot retention. The PIREP ratio was excellent this month, and I have one strong suggestion to maintain that for October: because of the numerous time zone changes as countries switch to and from Daylight Saving Time, please file your PIREPs as soon as possible after flying the flight to avoid time zone errors.

Management Changes and New Hiring
We have a few changes to our management team: Casey Dalal is our new Delta Fleet Manager, and Amy Gardner is our new South African Fleet Manager. We are also currently hiring for five positions: Aircraft Developer, a second Panels Manager, Roster System Assistant, Scenery Developer, and Varig Fleet Manager.

Polynesian Blue to Begin Operations
Virgin Blue's second affiliate, Polynesian Blue, based in Samoa, will begin service at the end of the month. The initial route will be between Apia and Sydney.

Merchandise Sale
SimAirline.net will be holding a sale on all our merchandise. All items will be 20% off from 3 to 10 October.

Flight Times Reminder
Please remember that PIREPs should reflect the flight times as flown by you, not the scheduled times of the flight. You should, of course, always depart at the scheduled time.

Virtual Airline of the Month - AOM
This month's featured virtual airline is AOM Virtual. More information on AOM Virtual, including selected screenshots, can be found here.

World Tour - McDonnell Douglas
This month's World Tour will focus on a single manufacturer - McDonnell Douglas. All flights will be flown with every type of McDonnell Douglas aircraft from our virtual airlines: DC-9, DC-10, MD-11, MD-80, and MD-90.

Despite the end of summer, there are still many new routes that our virtual airlines will be adding, especially at the end of the month with the beginning of their winter timetables. I hope you look forward to those new offerings, and as always, thank you for being a part of SimAirline.net.
