To All Of Our Pilots,

Thank you all for your patience and understanding while I was away on vacation, as well as for dealing with our recent email and downloads server problems so well. I did not receive a single email that indicated that someone wasn't aware of these things, and I thank you all for that. While I was away, I did realize a large number of small items that I need to take care of, so it will be a few days before the roster is updated. Also contributing to this delay is the significant PIREP backlog that I already have from my vacation. I was able to get some work done, and among that was the opening of Alitalia Virtual, our seventeenth virtual airline. While the real airline is undergoing difficult times, we are committed to ensuring that Alitalia’s legacy will be available to the entire flight simulation community regardless of their future. Finally, while we did not achieve our monthly goals for August, in thanks to you for the time I was away and in apologies for the error that lost five days of emails and PIREPs, I think it's appropriate that we add Korean Air to our operations anyways. This month's goals will be to try to add Air Canada to our operations.

Downloads Server Update
At this time, our downloads server is still unavailable, and I apologize for this. Fully restoring downloads is our top priority this month.

Virgin Nigeria Airlines Announced
The Nigerian government has announced its intentions to have Virgin Atlantic be the core investor and strategic partner in the formation of a new Nigerian flag carrier to be known as Virgin Nigeria Airlines. When this airline begins operations, it will be added to our Virgin International Airways operations.

Delta to Close Dallas/Ft. Worth Hub
Delta has announced that it will completely shut down its Dallas/Ft. Worth (DFW) hub. At this time, we have not decided whether the routes from DFW will be added to Delta Virtual's Discontinued Routes, or closed completely. If you feel strongly one way or another, please take the time to let me know.

Screenshots Section Nearing 1000
Our Screenshots section, which has showcased our pilots' flights since its resurrection in July 2002, is nearing 1000 screenshots. Please take the time to visit the section if you have not before. All pilots are encouraged to submit their screenshots and to vote in our regular contests.

We're closing in on all eight of the virtual airlines we wanted to add this year, and in October I'll be announcing which virtual airlines we'll add next year. The list of six airlines has been finalized. I hope you'll be as excited about the new choices for 2005 as I am, and I hope you continue to enjoy what SimAirline.net has to offer.
