To All Of Our Pilots,

April was an excellent month, and with the achievement of all of our monthly goals, we will be adding Copa Virtual to SimAirline.net later this month. Our goal for this month is to add South African Airways to our operations. I was very pleased that pilots used the inactivity form so much, as it reached its highest level ever. Also of note, Sabena Virtual and Virgin Atlantic had their best months ever.

Management Hiring
At this time, we are currently hiring for four positions, three of which need to be filled by the end of the month to add South African. Vacancies that opened up in our management team during March were quickly filled, but some have opened up again.

Donations
This month we received $35 in additional donations from Don Merritt and Spencer Hinson, bringing our total funds to $115. We will be using these funds to pay for our website hosting and to expand our server capabilities, which will allow us to improve our email services for management, add new and better message boards, and create better and faster updating PIREPs.

New Message Boards Coming
We are planning on replacing our current Message Boards with a new but similar format that, among other improvements, does not have any advertisements. We would also like your feedback on what sections we should add to these new message boards to improve their usage by pilots, so please let us know here.

Expanded Aircraft Pages
As you may have noticed, our aircraft pages are changing. Many of our links are no longer direct because of bandwidth usage issues (at one point we were transferring over 1 GB per day), but instead link to Avsim's download of the files. We are also adding information on each aircraft in the fleet for those pilots that are interested in that sort of information. Finally, we will soon be adding additional old liveries to Alaska, Continental, Northwest, Sabena, Swissair, and Virgin.

Roster Updates Status
I am aware that I haven't been able to make as frequent roster updates the past month. I used to make three updates a week, but lately that has fallen to two or even one update per week. Thank you for your patience with me and the delays, but we hope the situation will be improved once we improve our PIREP forms to a new system which will allow faster and more frequent updates.

Internship Help Requested
I am currently looking into summer internships with various U.S. airlines. If you know of any personal contacts that could assist me in obtaining an internship position, please let me know.

I was recently reminded that we're now in our fifth year of operations, an outstanding feat considering the short lives of many virtual airlines. Let's continue to build on our past to create an ever brighter future.
