To All Of Our Pilots,
May was another excellent
month for SimAirline.net. We broke our records set last month for flight
hours and PIREPs.
Concorde Virtual
Delayed, Expected to Open This Month
Concorde Virtual was forced to delay its
opening because schedules and a flight manual are still not ready. Because
of the different flight characteristics of the aircraft and the desire
to include all scheduled services, we felt it was necessary to delay opening
the virtual airline in order to include this.
Fly-Ins Put on Hold, Online ATC Training
in Planning
Because of increasingly worse turnout
for our three fly-ins so far, Newark, Zurich, and Los Angeles, we are discontinuing
fly-ins until we can ensure a good turnout for these events. To help this,
our Events Coordinator, David Velez, is planning a training section of
our website to introduce pilots about how to flying online using VATSIM
and IVAO. An opening date for this has not been decided yet.
New Panels Manager Joins Staff, Aircraft
Developer Needed
Corey Ford, our longtime Panels Manager
and Aircraft Developer - U.S., has had to step down from his positions.
All of the panels currently available at SimAirline.net and many of the
aircraft are thanks to his work. Replacing him in the panels position is
Craig Lowery, our former Delta Fleet Manager. However, we need someone
to replace him as aircraft developer, which involves primarily repainting
aircraft. If you are intersted, please go here.
Eleventh Virtual
Airline? ANA Likely
After some deliberation
and consideration of what airline would be the strongest candidate for
a proposed but not decided upon eleventh virtual airline, All Nippon Airways
(ANA) or Japan was selected. For information on why ANA was selected, and
to offer your feedback, you may view the exact
topic in our Message
Boards.
