Message from Aaron
1 May 2003
To All Of Our Pilots,
April was yet another
exciting month for us. We set new records in flight hours, total pilots,
applications, new pilots, flying pilots, and PIREPs. In short, an excellent
month. Delta narrowly beat its previous record for most PIREPs in a month
by one of our virtual airlines, and our growth in April was fueled by Alaska,
Northwest, and Swissair.
Concorde Virtual
Opening This Month
Concorde Virtual was announced two weeks
ago as a virtual airline based solely on the operations of the Concorde
in real life throughout its history. We are still on target for opening
the new virtual airline later this month.
Los Angeles Chosen for Third Fly-In
Our third fly-in for SimAirline.net will
take place at Los Angeles on May 10. Details are available here.
Our fourth fly-in is tentatively planned for Brussels, although Amsterdam
and London are possible alternates.
Alaska Regional Operations Added
The operations of Era Aviation and PenAir
have been added to Alaska Airlines Virtual. Both are regional airlines
that operate exclusively within the state of Alaska to smaller aiports
than Alaska Airlines can serve, and exclusively with turboprop service.
Second Screenshots Contest of 2003
After a successful first screenshot a
month ago, we now have enough screenshots for our second contest
of the year.
Possible Disruption of Service
Because I will be moving to a small town
between Minneapolis/St. Paul and Rochester, MN in late August or early
September, as well as obtaining a new computer to base SimAirline.net's
operations from, there may be some disruption of service for up to a week.
Changes occuring at that time will involve email addresses for myself and
other members of our management team, and we therefore may have to temporarily
prevent applications and PIREPs from being submitted.
This Message from
Aaron marks a full year of including this as part of our organization.
I certainly hope that you appreciate this, and encourage you to contact
me at any time.
